Charminar, Hyderabad Tourist Place

A most striking monument, dominates the skyline of the old city, with 4 graceful minarets soaring to height of 180 feet, the best of Hyderabad tourist places, it was built two years after the founding of the city in 1951. There are 45 prayers spaces and a mosque located in its central structure. Most of the fabled bazaars of Hyderabad are located here. With its stunning identity, it is as much a signature of Hyderabad as the Taj Mahal of Agra and the Eiffel Tower of Paris.
The mention of tourist attractions in Hyderabad begins with Charminar. This historical monument is said to be the heart of the city. The reason being, Charminar is situated at the centre of the city. It is believed that Hyderabad was developed around this monument later. Charminar was built in the Qutub Shahi period. The monument was built by Quli Qutub Shah in 1591. Its beauty and magnificence is retained since then in the same way.

A magnificent structure that reflects the genius of its builders, one of the best Hyderabad tourist places, the Bahaminis and Qutb Shahi rulers. This Majestic fortress has 87 bastions, and 8 colossal gateways over 69ft. high which could withstand even elephants battering them during a siege. Above all it is famous for its brilliant acoustics and marvels of the architecture, where a clap at the entrance can be heard at the highest point of the fort. There is a sound and light show at 7pm daily which relives the grandeur.

Mecca Masjid, Hyderabad Tourist Destination

The largest historical mosque in the south, located near charminar, it was built by the sixth Qutb Shahi King in 1614 and finishing touches added by the Mughal King Aurangazeb. The beautiful mosque can accommodate at the time, nearly 10,000 people for offering prayers. Legend has it that some bricks brought from Mecca were used in the construction of the central arch of this mosque.
Mecca Masjid is said to be one of the most beautiful and largest Mosques of India. Mecca Masjid can accommodate around 10,000 worshippers at one time. Not only muslims, but people from all the faiths visit this place of historical importance for its beautiful architecture. Mecca Masjid is situated 100 meters away from Charminar.

The Qutb Shahi Tombs, Hyderabad Tourist Places

The oldest historical monuments in Hyderabad reflecting the architectural beauty of the erstwhile kingdom, are the regal resting places of the Qutb Shahi dynasty.

Taramati Baradari, Hyderabad Tourist Attractions

This stately 17th century pavillion used to reverberate with music and dance whenever Taramati, the beautiful courtesan of the last king of Golconda entertained. Falaknuma Palace Hyderabad Tourist Place

As the name says, this palace touches the stars, literally. This magnificent palace was constructed by Nawab Vikar-ul-Umra Bahadur on top of a 650m high hill. This palace is also known as mirror of the city.
